Competition

Stemracing (formerly Formula 1 in Schools) is a multidisciplinary, international technology competition in which teams of 3-6 students design a small racing car (max. 24 cm long) using CAD software and manufacture it using processes such as 3D printing, turning, and milling. The teams are also responsible for marketing and financing the project, which means they have to find partners to support them in its implementation. There are two age groups in the competition (junior and senior), which are judged separately. In addition to the time on the approximately 20m long race track, the competition also evaluates the portfolio (a kind of catalog with information about the car and the team), an oral presentation, the team stand (a kind of exhibition stand), and the manufacturing and construction.
